Application Process

We want your time with us to be great for Sellafield Ltd and great for you. That's why we've made our application process so in-depth. It's designed to help you shine.

In order to recruit the best people for our apprenticeships, we use a training provider called Gen2. Throughout the recruitment process your application will be assessed and reviewed by Sellafield Ltd representatives to ensure that your career ambitions are well suited to us.

Below is a brief overview of what you can expect from our recruitment process. Please be aware this can change depending on the scheme you apply for.

Stage 1: Application Form

Applications open via the Gen2 website every January. As part of your application you will be asked to state a preference for specific Sellafield Ltd apprenticeship scheme. Please research these thoroughly prior to submitting your application. Tip: Each of the Sellafield Ltd schemes have a minimum entry requirement such as certain GCSE grades, please ensure you review these before applying.

Stage 2: Aptitude Testing

If you’re successful at the application form stage, you’ll be invited to complete an aptitude test. The type of test will depend upon the scheme you’ve applied for. You will be contacted by a member of the Gen2 recruitment team with further information on the requirements for your particular test.

Stage 3: Interview

Interviews will vary be dependent upon the apprenticeship scheme you’ve applied for. As a standard, you will be interviewed by Sellafield Ltd at least once throughout this stage.

Tip: Research the nuclear industry and understand the current affairs relating to it and Sellafield Ltd.

Stage 4: Offer

If you’re successful in your interview(s), you’ll be assigned the most suitable apprenticeship scheme based on your performance.
