Annual Leave Entitlement

Work/life balance matters to us. That’s why we offer 25.5 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays. Entitlement is rising to 30 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays from 1st April 2024.

There is also the ability to purchase an additional 3 days leave on top (2.5 from 1st April 2024), or carry over 5 days annual leave (10 from 1st April 2024) each financial year.

Defined Contribution Pension

Sellafield Ltd provides a generous defined contribution (money purchase) pension offering. The plan is not compulsory, and once you join the company you will be able to opt out of the pension scheme if you wish.

The Combined Nuclear Pension Plan (CNPP) was set up in 2006 as the industry-wide arrangement for eligible workers in the nuclear decommissioning industry.

Your contribution is deducted from your monthly salary. The more you pay, the more the company pays. Current contribution rates are as follows:

Annual Bonus & Personal Bonuses

You’ll have the opportunity to benefit from an annual bonus, linked to company performance, of up to £4000 for Band 5 employees.  For band 3 and 4 employees bonus is available based on a mixture personal and company targets. The maximum opportunity is 15% for band 3 and 10% of base salary for band 4 employees.

*The company reserves the right to review or withdraw the bonus schemes at any time.

Expert advisors, trained by Citizens Advice able to provide comprehensive answers and assistance on a wide range of issues which affect daily life.

Care First Counsellors: 24/7 support, advice and counselling on any workplace or personal issues. All Care First Counsellors are professionally qualified and accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Free Aviva Health App & Annual Health Check

​Every Sellafield Ltd employee has access to health services through the Digicare+ Workplace app.

This is part of our employee assistance programme and gives every Sellafield employee access to:

  • A free annual health check
  • Mental health consultations
  • Nutritional consultations
  • Digital GP service
  • Second medical opinions

The app also links to information about useful NHS services and gym discounts. The idea is that by having this service, it will help support the health and wellbeing for every employee as we complete our purpose. Sick Pay

Sellafield Ltd has a company sick pay scheme for employees who are unable to attend due to unavoidable sickness and absence and who follow the set down notification and certification procedure.

Cycle to Work Scheme

The scheme has been developed in conjunction with Cyclescheme and local stores – Cycle to Work is a government-backed scheme. Sellafield Ltd Cyclescheme was launched in 2007 and aims to help people access a more sustainable means of transport to work and help improve the UK’s congestion problems. The bike scheme opens on an annual basis and gives savings on tax and national insurance deductions.

Lifestyle

Sellafield Area Sports and Recreational Associations (SASRA) has been created for you offering a comprehensive range of savings to its members including three monthly lottery draws and a chance to win £10,000 a year, day trips and weekend breaks, discounts and local businesses are offered to our members ranging from health and beauty, household and entertainment.
