The IT Service Continuity Lead is the owner of IT Service Continuity (ITSC) process and is responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of the process, governing the standards that ICT teams and IT Service Provider(s) must adhere to.

The ITSC Lead will represent this process across the entire organisation and supply chain, ensuring that it is clearly defined, designed, and documented as well as well managed and continuously improved.

They are accountable for ensuring that IT Disaster Recovery (DR) risks are reduced across a multi-supplier delivery model, but in the event those risks become an issue or a DR event, enable Sellafield to recover, stabilise and resume normal IT operations as soon as possible.

Reporting into the Management and Control Lead, this role leads the ITSC team, and provides line management, coaching and mentoring to the Disaster Recovery and Risk Manager role.


On a day to day basis the role involves:

General
• Lead the ITSC team
• Accountable for all Processes, Policies and Procedures within the ITSC team, ensuring that there are regular documented reviews, and that changes and updates are auditable
• Represent the ITSC team to internal and external stakeholders
• Acting as a point of escalation for the ITSC team
• Responsible for driving continuous service improvement activities across allocated services, working closely with the Continual Service Improvement team
• Provide coaching, mentoring and support to the ITSC team, including Disaster Recovery and Risk Manager(s)

IT Service Continuity, Disaster Recovery
• Set overall ITSC strategy
• Support suppliers and the business in understanding ITSC requirements and solutions
• Monitor the performance of the supply chain against contractual obligations for ITSC, such as submission of updated ITSC plans and adherence to scheduled tests
• Accountable for driving the ITSC process
• Advise Projects on ITSC requirements for new Solutions, including working with the Service Design and Solution Design teams
• Monitor that ITSC acceptance criteria are met for new services, working with the Service Transition Managers and Analysts
• Monitor changes proposed and approved by the Change Advisory Board (CAB) for ITSC implications
• Work closely with the Availability and Capacity Management team regarding ITSC/DR
• Maintain a good working knowledge of the latest industry standards for IT Service Continuity

ITSM Risk Management
• Accountable for Risk Management within the Service Management team
• Approval of Service Management Risk Management processes and procedures
• Ensure the Service Management Risk and Issues log is regularly updated and reviewed including those identified by SL and by the supply chain
• Effectively communicating risks and issues within the wider ICT community and Supply Chain


To thrive in the role you will need:

• Working experience in IT Service Continuity
• Experience of team management, ideally running a Service Continuity or DR team
• Experience of working with the supply chain
• Experience of Service Management Toolsets
• Good communication skills with the ability to inform others using technical knowledge
• Good analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and patterns
• ITIL V3/4 Foundation Certificate or, willingness to work towards


You may also have:

• ITIL V3/4 Expert or ITIL4 Managing Professional or ITL4 Strategic Leader
• Additional ITIL or Service Management qualifications (e.g., RESILIA)
• Knowledge of Service Management Best Practice
