Who we are looking for:

We are seeking a number of Network / Cyber Engineers to implement, maintain, and support our growing network assets and infrastructure across the Sellafield Ltd estate. You will form part of an Enterprise-wide Network team that is responsible for maintenance, breakdown recovery and support activities.

The role will involve:

• Implementing design changes to existing and support to new systems, collaborating with both internal and external customers as appropriate that meet local business & security objectives.
• Provides industrial networks expertise to ensure designs are fit for purpose and meet current standards.
• Work closely with site network architects to help develop an account technical strategy and roadmap.
• Ensure that Networks & Security standards are taken into account in all new solutions.
• Identify and propose Service Improvements, Cost Reductions and Revenue Opportunities.


• Monitoring network engineering performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Work closely with Reliability Engineers from across the value streams and Enterprise to manage the assets efficiently and effectively.
• Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN’s etc.)
• Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, security and vulnerability configurations.
• Work within established configuration and change management policies ensuring configuration control is maintained at all points within the life-cycle.

To thrive in the role:

• HNC/HND or higher qualification in an electronic, software/computing related subject.
• Experience / or understanding of working in and Industrial Technology environment.
• Can provide evidence of a sound knowledge of one or more of a variety of Programmable technologies areas – Networking, Windows Architecture, Cyber Security.
• Can provide evidence / or understanding of working within a rigorous configuration and version control process.
• Experience/ / or understanding of design and deployment of network security solutions.
• Experience of producing design documentation to a certified standard.
• Experience / or understanding of network packet capture and analysis.
• Experience of Working at height/confined spaces may be required in some on plant areas.

Desirable Skills

• Graduate (minimum 2:2) or equivalent in relevant discipline or, part professional qualification with relevant experience.
• Can provide evidence of a sound knowledge of one or more of a variety of Networking, Windows or Cyber related technologies.
• Ability to demonstrate a good working knowledge of configuration control and supporting arrangements.
• Accredited or ability to achieve accreditation to an appropriate professional body within the network/security field.
• Proven experience/deployment of Cisco CCNA 200-301, Certified Ethical Hacking, CCNP Security and deployment of CISCO ASA Firepower technology.
• Experience of network packet capture and analysis.
• Willing to travel as necessary in line with business needs
• Ability to work under pressure and remain decisive
• Ability to appraise and quality assure the work of others Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Additional Information:

Salary: £37,050 to £44,750 depending on skills, qualifications and experience.
