What will the Successful Candidate be Doing?

The successful candidate will be joining an experienced team within the project delivery directorate to provide expertise in technical areas and support the Pre-Operations Manager & Section Lead. This will include authoring operational safety schedules, operating & maintenance documents, and inputting into project integrated programmes, design and safety cases. You will also be responsible for organising and delivering pre-operational tasks which requires direct supervision of pre-operations team members.

The work is diverse, no problem is ever the same, and every project comes with a wide variety of technical challenges. You will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment including advanced robotics & ROV’s, a range of process plant, cranes and material handling equipment.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Skills:
• Hold or be able to achieve HNC or equivalent Level 4 qualification in relevant technical subject OR Incorporated Engineer status.
• Successful delivery of Engineering, manufacturing, process or plant tasks and assignments.
• Expertise in relevant technical area.
• Demonstrable experience of building effective collaborative relationships across other areas of the business.
• Evidence of controlling and supervising a team, including allocating and prioritising workload.
• Experience of and holding people to account.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills including document/writing skills.
• Proven problem-solving skills. • Experience of coaching and developing others.

Desirable Skills:
• Accredited integrated BEng degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification.
• Chartered Engineer status.
• Mechanical/Electrical or plant support background.
• Previous SL experience an advantage.
