Our T-Level Placement & Responsibilities

Our Operational Technology Group placement will mainly focus on:

• Support and demonstrate understanding around low complexity software modifications such as virus engine updates, mimic changes and Temporary Software Modifications made permanent following site level procedures.
• Support breakdown recoveries in a number of settings on active*/none active plants.
• Demonstrate understanding of Programmable Electronic Systems nominated duties by shadowing engineers during tasks.
• Support the interrogation of systems to collate data, for either analysis for information reports.
• Demonstrate understanding of Programmable Electronic Systems tools, off-line development systems, test environments and equipment used by OTG Control System Engineers.

What you’ll need to apply

Our T Level placement opportunities are based within areas of our business that also support our Degree Apprenticeship opportunities for Level 5-6 Nuclear Engineering apprentices. As a result, we’re looking for students who have the academic potential to progress onto our Nuclear Engineering Degree Apprenticeship scheme in the future. To be considered for a placement, you’ll need to meet the minimum entry requirements for the Degree Apprenticeship programme, which are as follows:

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades 9 to 4 (Grades A* to C) including Mathematics, English Language and 1 Science or Engineering subject. Mathematics GCSE at Grade 6 (Grade B) is essential or Grade C, at A Level Mathematics
• Minimum of 96 UCAS points at A-Level, T- Level
• One STEM subject is required (e.g. Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Science or Engineering)

You’ll also need to be willing to travel to places of work in West Cumbria and potentially to Supply Chain organisations on an ad-hoc basis.

• Online Assessment: For the next stage, you will be required to complete an online assessment. You will be sent the link via email to carry out the online assessment, please ensure you regularly check your emails.
• In-Person Interview : If successful in the online assessment, you will be required to attend an in-person interview at Energus, Lillyhall on 21st October 2026.
• Expected Start Date: 2nd February 2027
