You don’t need to know what career you want yet. Evolve is a multi-discipline work experience programme that gives you the chance to explore different careers at Sellafield while working with other students to tackle a real-world challenge.

Throughout the programme, you’ll discover how people with different skills and specialisms work together to solve complex problems and deliver projects safely and successfully. You’ll meet professionals working in areas including:

• Robotics and Artificial Intelligence
• Engineering Design
• Project Management
• Quality Assurance
• Commissioning
• Optioneering

By working alongside professionals from these disciplines, you’ll gain a valuable insight into the diverse career pathways available at Sellafield and discover how different teams collaborate to deliver complex projects safely and successfully.

• Take on a real Sellafield challenge

  Working as part of a team, you’ll tackle a real engineering challenge inspired by work at Sellafield.

  You’ll explore how new ideas, technology, robotics and artificial intelligence could help inspect and monitor pipework remotely, reducing the need for people to enter challenging environments.

  But Evolve isn’t just about finding a technology solution.

  You’ll experience the different stages and decisions involved in turning an idea into a possible solution. You’ll investigate the problem, consider different options, explore potential technologies and work with your team to develop your proposal.

• Discover how different careers work together

  One challenge needs lots of different people and skills.

  You’ll get an insight into how different professions contribute to solving complex problems and discover career pathways that you may never have considered before.

  You don’t need previous experience in engineering, robotics or AI. Come ready to get involved, ask questions, share ideas and discover what interests you.

• Build skills for your future

  Evolve isn’t only about learning what people do at Sellafield. It’s also an opportunity to develop skills that will help you at school, in further education and in your future career.

  You’ll practise:

  The programme concludes with teams presenting their proposed solution to Sellafield professionals at the end of the week.
