4B Operations Team Leader Assessment
Job Description
We are inviting applications against our Expression of Interest (EOI) for employees interested in becoming a Team Leader within Operations.

To be invited to the assessment you must meet the following criteria;
• Be a Sellafield Ltd Employee
• Discuss your interest with your Line Manager
• Have 2 years’ service at your current pay grade
• Be fully competent/fully accomplished in your current role.
• Have achieved at least ‘meets expectations’ in your most recent end of year performance rating.
• Be willing to move to another facility and/or working pattern in a Team Leader role.
• Have experience in an Operations/Manufacturing role.
• Be willing to undertake DAP/ASEQP appointment(s) as required.

As outlined in the new process, meeting the standard informs suitability for a Team Leader position, but is not a formal offer of a Team Leader role. Please note, a Team Leader position in your current facility may not be available. Offers will be issued for priority vacancies in line with business requirements and are likely to require a move to a different facility.
Principal Accountabilities
• Attend/lead work planning meetings and liaise with Integrated Work Management (IWM) to understand work priorities.
• Plan, organize and supervise work; ensuring fit for purpose risk assessments, working instructions and other documents required for safe work execution.
• Ensure sufficient Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) are available to meet and Minimum/Optimum Safety Manning Levels (MSML). Where gaps are present, escalate appropriately.
• Escalate resource deficiencies where insufficient resource is available to meet Operational manning levels / deliver critical work scope.
• Authorisation and release of work as Authorizing Authority (AA).
• Oversee the activities of team members to ensure that work is carried out as required by Company standards, procedures, instructions, and other requirements.
• Coach and mentor team members and colleagues to assist in knowledge transfer and enhancement of the profession’s overall capability.
• Manage the team in accordance with company HR processes and procedures; timekeeping, sickness absence, leave, personnel records, etc.
• Support the development and implementation of improvement programmes.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME); provide authoritative nuclear safety advice on behalf of the Duty Holder.
– Investigate incidents and events (Basic Cause and Root Cause investigations).
– Participate/Facilitate formal Conservative and Operational Decision Making (CDM/ODM).
• In addition to the above role holders are expected to fulfil other duties and tasks that are commensurate with their grade assigned to them by management to ensure efficient operations and the success of the team/organisation.
