Job Description

The Commissioning Operability Team Member 1 role is to support the Commissioning Operability Manager or Commissioning Operability Section Lead through:
• Input O&M learning into project processes.
• Delivery of operability work scope.
• Support a proactive and balanced approach to safety.
• Authoring complex working level instructions.
• Validating working level instructions.
• Training O&M personnel.
• Providing expertise in technical area.

Principal Accountabilities

• Delivery of allocated commissioning work-scope and meeting deadline dates.
• Supporting the MSC/sub committees when required as an SME.
• Undertake nominated or key operational support roles on a given Project.
• Maintain quality assurance compliance as required.
• Providing support for Operating Unit, Partner or Contractor Operability delivery.
• Deliver commissioning documentation activities through the generation and control of instructions including operator instructions, alarm response instructions, emergency operating instructions, and maintenance instructions etc.
• May hold nominated roles.
• Development of schedules for Human Factors and operational preventative measures (OPM) for safety testing.


Knowledge & Experience

• Reporting commissioning progress accurately.
• Definition and implementation of the O&M arrangements required at project completion/active start.
• Have an understanding of commissioning arrangements in compliance with Nuclear Site Licence Condition 21.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships and communications with key stakeholders.
• Effective at working within a team.
• Ensuring input to other project processes are incorporated, for example, design, HAZOP, risk, contract, estimating and knowledge management.
• Have a basic understanding of the Sellafield gated process.
• Good document/report writing skills.
• Understanding of operability deliverables; People, Plant and Procedures.


Essential Skills

• Hold or be able to achieve level 3 qualification in relevant technical subject OR Engineering Technician (EngTech) status.
• Successful delivery of work in an operational / engineering / technical / maintenance role.


Desirable Skills

• HND or equivalent Level 5 qualification in relevant technical subject.
• Incorporated Engineer status.
