Commissioning Test Lead
Job Description
Under the supervision of a Commissioning Test Manager or Commissioning Test Section Lead responsible for:
• Delivering commissioning tasks which require direct supervision of commissioning team members.
• Organisation, monitoring, and development of the commissioning team.
• Input into design and safety case.
• Input into project delivery logic and integrated programmes
• Providing expertise in technical area.
• Authoring schedules and documentation.

Principal Accountabilities
• Supervision of commissioning team and support resources. • Co-ordination of training activities.
• Managing day to day liaison with personnel to obtain any necessary permissions and minimise impact to the project.
• Ensuring input to other project processes are incorporated, for example, design, HAZOP, risk, contract, estimating and knowledge management.
• Carrying out testing activities throughout all stages of commissioning in line with the approved testing and commissioning programme.
• Identification of faults and ability to propose and implement solutions.
• Production of test documentation.
• Initiation and implementation of FOBs.
• Witnessing of test activities.
• Validation of working level instructions.
• Application and removal of temporary commissioning aids.
• Recording of test results in accordance with the Commissioning Standard.
• Recording of supporting data in accordance with test requirements.
Knowledge & Experience
• Understands commissioning arrangements in compliance with Nuclear Site Licence Condition 21.
• Has a strong desire to drive for results within their teams/departments.
• Can influence others to improve.
• Can develop and maintain effective relationships and communications with key stakeholders.
• Senior stakeholder management and effective communicator.
• Effective at directing colleagues/team.
• Can ensure input to other project processes are incorporated, for example, design, HAZOP, risk, contract, estimating and knowledge management.
• Has a basic understanding of the Sellafield gated process.
• Fault finding and problem-solving skills.
Essential Skills
• Hold or be able to achieve HNC or equivalent Level 4 qualification in relevant Engineering discipline OR Incorporated Engineer status
• Successful delivery of commissioning or engineering tasks and assignments
• Line management skills and experience.
• Organisational skills and experience.
Desirable Skills
• BEng degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification.
• Chartered Engineer status.
