The Dosimetry Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the provision of a professional, HSE approved, internal, external & emergency record keeping Dosimetry service to Sellafield site, as well as outside customers and visitors.
The Dosimetry Manufacturing Manager reports to the Head of ADS.
Principal Accountabilities:
Act as the Deputy Head of the Approved Dosimetry Service in support of the Head of ADS as required.
Ensure that the SL Approved Dosimetry Service (ADS) is operated in line with the requirements of the ‘Requirements for the Approval of Dosimetry Services’ (RADS) under the Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017.
Operate the SL Approved Dosimetry Service in accordance with the specific, HSE Statement of Service for SL.
Develop and manage a department work programme to deliver the requirements of the HSE Statement of Service.
Deliver significant and sustained improvement in the efficiency and quality of the ADS and Record Keeping Service.
Undertake daily oversight of operational and maintenance activities, ensuring equipment maintenance is carried out in accordance with schedule.
Develop and deliver a programme of assurance activities against SL compliance with the RADS and HSE Statement of Service providing accurate and timely reporting of issues.
Interface with and provide periodic reports and updates to the ONR and HSE as required.
Manage the relevant budget on behalf of the Head of Radiological Services.
Hold team leaders and team members accountable for adhering to commitments and performance of work according to applicable SL standards, procedures and arrangements.
Develop the competence and ensure SQEP of the ADS and Record keeping team as appropriate.
Investigate all incidents and events and ensure all corrective actions are implemented and learning opportunities shared.
Essential Skills?
Degree level qualification (2:1 minimum) in a relevant STEM subject or an equivalent level of qualification and experience in a Technical or Operational role.
Ability to understand and implement the technical requirements of the RADS and Statement of Service.
Experience of leading, developing and delivering improvement programmes.
Experience of dealing with Internal and External Regulators.
Ability to lead, manage and develop a team of people.

During the interview, you will also be expected to give a 10-minute presentation on
