Engineering Support Team Member 4B (Optimisation Team Member)
Job Description
Role Purpose
To provide specialist Engineering Support services to Engineering and Maintenance (E&M) through the use of appropriate technology and systems. Using Continuous Improvement methodology to drive the business forward and enable more informed data driven decision making.
Principle Accountabilities
Deliverables
• Drive standards during delivery of activities, ensure incorrect delivery is resolved whilst meeting customer needs, process owner and business expectations and maintaining strong working relationships across all levels within the business.
• Analyse, interrogate, compile, present and process information from required systems to identify root causes, KPIs, share learning, inform decision making or outcomes across the business.
• Have a challenging approach, driving and owning local improvement activities to implement continuous and business improvement outcomes.
• Actively coach and mentor colleagues and customers to strengthen knowledge of E&M systems and processes.
• Prioritise & schedule workload in line with programme of work and agreed priorities. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure delivery.
• May act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for tools & systems and have a working knowledge of procedures and processes that ensure our compliance with Site License Conditions or arrangements.
• Provide business leaders with a Value Stream single point of contact to prioritise and manage all Optimisation Services Provision demonstrating burden reduction on the business.
• Drive, improve and assure delivery of the Sitewide Maintenance Schedule to enable compliance with DMS 11. ‘Standard for Efficient Scheduling of Maintenance’ and all associated processes on behalf of the process owner.
• Carry out Process Performance Assurance against DMS 11 on behalf of process owner.
• Develop strategic engagement processes to deliver Optimisation services, changes to process & new digital tools to the business in line with E&M and DAM Strategy.
• Provide progress of the Optimisation delivery schedule against key priorities.
• Engage and collaborate with Process owner to ensure process changes are maintained and any compliance issues are escalated accordingly.
• Provide Optimisation support and oversight to the business enabling focused delivery of all associated processes such as Asset Registration, Maintenance Rationalisation, Pattern Planning, Gardening, TBoM alignment, PMP alignment, ensuring all Engineering Schedules are substantiated in accordance with the Safety Case.
Knowledge & Experience
Experience of communicating and building/maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of appropriate SLCs, e.g. 22 and 28 and associated Policies and Processes. Strong analytical skills to be able to identify patterns and trends within data. Fundamental understanding of the Pattern Planning processes and associated Maintenance Processes.
Essential Skills
• Experience of resilience and good interpersonal skills to be able to interact with customer (both internal and external to Sellafield) at all levels of the organisation.
• Experience of analytical skills with demonstrable knowledge of problem-solving tools.
• Demonstrable evidence of being able to advise and influence at a senior leadership level.
• Demonstrable experience of delivering change.
• Demonstrates accuracy, quality, and attention to detail in their work.
Desirable Skills
• Experience in the Schedule Change Process and how the Plant Maintenance Schedules data is structured in the CMMS from Safety Case to PMS.
• Good understanding of company policies and procedures, SLMS 1.06 Plant Engineering, Asset Management and Equipment Reliability and 1.08 Maintenance and Task Delivery.
• Experience in Optimisation Process, Rationalisation, Pattern Planning & Gardening.
• Detailed knowledge of Engineering Information Systems (M3, Qlikview).
• Experience in an Engineering & Maintenance Support Role.

Campaign Approach
A new campaign approach is being rolled out to support the timely delivery of current and future post filling requirements, this will enable immediate vacancies to be filled along with building a holding pool for consideration against future vacancies. This VN has been issued in order to fill current demand and to create a pool for future vacancies.
Some jobs and professions may input their shortlisting and interview results earlier than the above agreed dates. Whilst we would endeavour to send out shortlisting and interview results earlier than the agreed dates if we can, this is not always possible due to the large volume of campaigns we are running coherently.
If the profession has immediate vacancies to fill, then an offer will be issued to the successful applicant. If there are no immediate vacancies, those applicants that have met the requirements will be placed in a holding pool for future consideration.
Candidates in the holding pool will only be offered roles for the positions that they have been interviewed for. If you have not been selected after 12 months, your details will be removed from the job in line with GDPR requirements and you would need to re-apply if you still wish to be considered.
