ER Support Co-ordinator (Emergency Response)
Job Description
To support the Emergency Response Support Officer in the delivery of all aspects of all capabilities in their relevant area. The Emergency Response Support Co-ordinator works within set regulations and procedures to ensure compliance with external and internal policy and procedure site wide.
Principal Accountabilities
• Assist the Emergency Response Support Officer with the implementation, maintenance and delivery of all identified training needs to both internal and external stakeholders to the relevant site and National Occupational Standards.
• Conduct Audit, Review and assurance of inspections / programmes to ensure compliance and maintain risk information.
• Support the Emergency Response Support Officer to conduct research and development and produce reports and recommendations covering all areas of responsibility.
• Carry out, co-ordinate and monitor equipment inspections and maintain accurate records in accordance with company procedures.
• Produce, schedule, maintain and monitor reports, dashboards and improvement plans to support the delivery of training.
• Act as system administrator / facilitator for the competence recording system and collation of training data.
• Carry out duties as directed by the emergency response support lead or nominated deputy for the provision of a safe, quality and cost-effective Fire & Rescue and emergency response service.
• Maintain effective communications with key personnel and external agencies to ensure good stakeholder management.
Job Context & Challenges
Work will entail the delivery of training for emergency preparedness to identified stakeholders and will involve working in high pressure, hazardous environments in support of an emergency response on the SL site. The job will also entail identifying the correct PPE and equipment for any tasks identified, from sourcing through to implementation into business as usual as required.
Essential Skills
• Degree (min 2:2) or equivalent in relevant discipline, or a relevant recognised professional qualification, where appropriate together with adequate years relevant experience. For internal candidates, suitable relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications where appropriate.
• DV or SC clearance or the ability to obtain.
• Must have a full, clean manual UK driving licence and the potential ability to gain additional driving qualifications.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate Instructions so that the emergency assets and equipment can be safely deployed.
Desirable Skills
• A working knowledge of the Sellafield site and geography of key facilities.
• Ability to establish and maintain dashboards on performance-based measures.
• Evidence of involvement in improvement activities that has delivered local benefits.
• Experience of working in an operational environment.
• Monitored worker status or ability to obtain to deliver maintenance of skills training in the active areas.
• Relevant recognised qualification in fire related and or health and safety profession at an agreed level.
• An assessing qualification.
• Evidence of identifying and mitigating risks when carrying out work (questioning attitude).
• SME/training and instruction qualification to a recognised accreditation or standard, in order to deliver identified training.
