Operations Team Leader
Job Description
1. Role Purpose:
Role holder is responsible for all operational activities on the electrical distribution network ensuring site supply and demand is met to support SLC11, legislation and Sellafield (SL) standards and procedures. undefined.
2. Deliverables
• Role holder will provide 24/7 Shift Team Manager cover for Electrical Services, includes DAP duties for the 11KV site electrical distribution network and all standby generation duties including but not limited to release of plant, SSC duties, COMAH DAP, compliance with safety case, IS for emergency response etc
• Appointment of LV & HV AP(E) role
• Line management of team of Operational Engineering Assistant trained in AP(E) specifically telecontrol, Low Voltage and High voltage tasks
• Provide guidance on all aspects of electrical safety to operations, maintenance, projects and contractors to minimise the risk of injury to individuals and ensure compliance of legislation, policies and procedures.
• Act as excavation Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all electrical services providing guidance and permissions on site excavations
• Maintain compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations (E@WRs), IET Wiring Regulations & SL Electrical Safety Rules (ESR) & guidance; during any activities by personnel on electrical equipment or electrical systems by undertaking the agreed programme of Task Observations and Electrical Safety Audits.
• Ensure high hazard electrical work (e.g. work on or near live exposed conductors that may give rise to danger) has high quality pre job briefs and the appropriate control & supervision.
• Introduce and encourage use of Maintenance Standards and Human Performance tools and techniques in activities associated with work on electrical equipment and electrical systems.
• Attend relevant stakeholder meetings or isolation surgeries to provide electrical safety advice on the hazards identified and the controls required to mitigate hazards.
• Production of safety documentation for the safe control of work on or near the site distribution network.
• Operation and control of distribution equipment.
Knowledge & Experience
• Higher level qualification in an electrical discipline or equivalent training/experience in a relevant maintenance/engineering role
• Nomination of NP / AP(E) role
• Experience of managing the motivation, personal development and performance of a team to ensure a high performing and cohesive team
• Incorporated status or potential to achieve incorporated status with an appropriate accredited Institute
Essential Skills
• Higher level qualification in an electrical discipline or equivalent training/experience in a relevant maintenance/engineering role

• Demonstrable experience and in depth understanding of both SL and government standards including Electricity at Work Regulations, Health & Safety at Work Act, IET Wiring Regulations, SL Electrical Safety Rules and supporting practices, Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations
• Experience of communicating at all levels of the organisation
Desirable Skills
• Incorporated status or potential to achieve Incorporated status with an appropriate accredited Institute.
