Job Description

The Senior Buyer will provide support to the Procurement Lead for the Applications sub category, which includes over 500 contracts and procurements with an overall portfolio value of £289m.


Principal Accountabilities

• Responsible for Contract Management of allocated contracts, including timely contract renewals or novations, and ensuring these continue to offer the best value for money.
• Manage variation requests to contracts, liaising with stakeholders and the Supplier Contract Manager to create, review and enact any required changes.
• Support on monthly Commercial or Service Reviews, covering all elements of commercial or claims management, including identification of any opportunities.
• Manage collective spend and forecasts, ensuring contracts remain within headroom and sanction limits.
• Support on new or replacement Procurements, utilising CCS Frameworks where applicable, including preparing the tender documentation, evaluation of bids and supporting contract award.
• Maintain accurate Contract and Procurement data within ATAMIS to support sub-category compliance and aggregation of future demand.
• Support on Supplier Relationship Management, including identifying and optimising the potential of the Supplier via Collaboration plans.
• Support on any NDA collaborative procurements relating to the Applications sub-category.


Essential Skills

• Candidate will hold a HNC/HND/degree in relevant discipline as well as at least one of the below:
– Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply Levels 4,5 or 6 Qualification
– Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Foundation or Advanced Qualification
– World Commerce and Contracting Foundation or Advanced Qualification
– Government Commercial Function Contract Management Qualification

• Experience working in procurement/supply covering a broad range of products and services.
• Knowledge of the Public Contract Regulations including PCR 2015 & PA23.


Desirable Skills

• ICT procurement experience.
