Role Purpose

The Low Voltage (LV) Equipment Programme supports the safe and reliable operation of LV systems across site, underpinning plant availability and supporting ongoing operations and decommissioning activities.

This role provides the opportunity to work across a range of plant systems, supporting maintenance delivery, fault finding, and engineering activities associated with LV equipment.

Deliverables
• Support maintenance activities on LV plant systems, including inspection, testing, fault finding, and corrective maintenance.
• Contribute to the preparation, review, and maintenance of engineering documentation and technical instructions.
• Support planning and coordination of maintenance tasks, including participation in stakeholder meetings.
• Support configuration control activities, ensuring alignment between plant, documentation, and system records.
• Assist with asset condition monitoring and support plant health and reliability activities.
• Respond to plant issues, supporting fault diagnosis and implementation of corrective actions.
• Work collaboratively with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams to support plant performance.
• Support deployment, installation, and testing of LV equipment within plant environments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities, supporting reliability, standardisation, and learning from experience.

Essential Skills

• Craft Apprenticeship (Level 3) in Electrical engineering
• Demonstrable ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation both written and verbal
• Demonstrable problem-solving capability (structured fault-finding approach)
• Demonstrable evidence of adapting to change
• Demonstrable experience of planning and organisational skills
• Demonstrable experience of working and collaborating within a team
• Coaching and mentoring, providing training
• Ability to interpret and follow engineering documentation and procedures
• Proven technical knowledge of Low Voltage Equipment
• Hold the Plant Engineer role
• Person Organising the work

Desirable Skills

• Experience working in a plant-facing or operational environment
• Completion of course -18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
• Knowledge or experience of electrical systems and maintenance activities
• Ability to gain CERP (Calibrated Equipment Responsible Person) or experience managing M&TE / calibration
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) Instructor capability (or working towards)
• C2 / R2 SQEP status or experience working within controlled environments
• Understanding and application of Electrical Safety Rules, with experience working toward or holding relevant nominations (e.g. SR1532 – Nomination B, SR1533 – Nomination C)
• Experience supporting plant modifications, installations, or equipment deployment
• Experience contributing to engineering documentation, maintenance instructions, or procedures
• Awareness of asset management / maintenance strategy (e.g. TBoM, condition monitoring)
• Experience within a regulated or safety-critical industry
• IET Membership
