Schedulers deliver safe and effective support activities as part of the Integrated Work Management team; including controlling the inputs to, develop, maintain, and distribute the integrated schedule, working with the required stakeholders to maximise safety, quality and efficient delivery of work. They play a key role in supporting the safe efficient operation of nuclear facilities. Working closely with a variety of teams and stakeholders you will support development of an integrated schedule, ensuring visibility of all work scope across the facility. Key challenges include maintaining complex schedules, responding to operational demands. Working with the required stakeholders to maximise efficient delivery of work.

Operations Support Team Members play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of nuclear facilities. Working closely with operational teams, you will help to implement and maintain essential processes to ensure adherence to strict regulatory and safety standards. This job involves providing technical and logistical support to resolving operational issues. Key challenges include adapting to changing regulations, managing multiple tasks simultaneously and supporting continuous improvements.

Both roles face the challenges of:

All Scheduler & Operations Support roles are plant-facing positions and require on-site presence to effectively support facility operations and stakeholders.

Principle Accountabilities

Scheduler

• Promote and support overall nuclear safety (along with all other areas of safety-conventional, industrial, radiological, environmental) by coordinating multiple work streams to produce an integrated schedule ensuring all work activities are to site standards, policies, processes, and procedures.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement programme, governance and control framework to ensure safe delivery of integrated activities against defined standards, company objectives and key performance indicators.
• Analyse and produce a logical sequenced schedule for delivery; minimise operational impact and maximise resource utilisation to support the facility and value stream goals and commitments. Provide optimum resolution for identified critical interactions and interfaces. Maintain data integrity and implement quality checks for accuracy and improvement.
• Interpret, generate and distribute performance reports to identify and implement improvements.
• Support effective delivery by acting as secretary for key integrated work management meetings.
• In addition to the above, job holders are expected to fulfil other duties and tasks that are commensurate with their grade assigned to them by management to ensure efficient operations and the success of the team / organisation.

Operations Support Team Member 1

• Promote and support nuclear, conventional, radiological, environmental and security safety by maintaining a safe operating envelope through ensuring all work activities adhere to site standards, policies, processes, and procedures.
• Deliver and undertake nominated or key operational support jobs to meet the facility / facilities or value stream goals and commitments (typical jobs are identified within the dimensions section of this job profile).
• Contribute to the continuous improvement programme, governance, and control framework to ensure safe delivery of operational activities against defined standards, company objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Support plant modifications and plant improvements in compliance with the Nuclear Site Licence conditions and other regulations in order to maintain a safe working environment.
• Support independent assurance activities with Office for Nuclear Regulations ONR), Environmental Agency (EA), Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Inc (LRQA), The World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) and internal and external regulators / customers.
• Support effective operations by acting as secretary for key operational meetings.
• Support and may act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for operational / compliance standards and plant administration activities through the generation and control of plant indicators, visual management, instruction (ownership and review), to ensure that a high standard of operational work is delivered.
• In addition to the above, job holders are expected to fulfil other duties and tasks that are commensurate with their grade assigned to them by management to ensure efficient operations and the success of the team / organisation.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Scheduler & Operations Support Team Member 1 both require:

Essential Skills

• Experience of working to site standards, procedures and governance requirements.
• Experience of planning and organising work against a defined scope.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Competent IT skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience of working in, or supporting, operational environments.
• Experience of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders both within and outside a facility.
• Experience of interpreting data and information to support problem solving and decision making.
