Control Systems at Sellafield Ltd

We are looking for graduates to join us who have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Control Systems, Electrical/Electronic and or Instrumentation Engineering.

You will need to have achieved a minimum of a 2:2 classification or above to meet our entry requirements.

Our positions based in West Cumbria (Sellafield site and surrounding offices) are within our Commissioning profession.

Commissioning is the act of bringing something newly produced into a working condition; Or in the Sellafield context: is the process of demonstrating that all systems and components of a building or industrial plant are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of the plant owner and within the safety constraints of the relevant regulatory body.

Graduates will be assigned within several different project teams on a variety of nuclear projects during their two year graduate scheme period. The Commissioning Graduate will split their time between the office (writing test procedures and technical reports, planning work, analysing data, attending committees and inputting into various other project processes such as design and project support) and out on site/plant carrying out practical commissioning engineering tasks, such as executing tests, carrying out inspections and diagnosing and rectifying defects.

What you will receive in return…

Our graduates start off with a 24-month fixed term contract, with an excellent starting salary of £40,802, rising to £41,721 in your second year with us. Following successful completion of your graduate programme and subject to there being a suitable vacancy you will be retained on permanent basis with us.

Other benefits include annual bonus of up to £4000, relocation allowance of £1400 subject to terms, interest free graduate loan option, 30 days annual leave with bank holidays on top and option to buy 2.5 more, attractive pension with company match up to 13.5% for 7% employee contribution.
