We are inviting applications for Shared Services Team Leader (Band 4B) roles across the following areas:

• 1 x Group Business Services – Employee Services.
• 1 x Group Business Services – Customer Service Desk.

These roles provide an exciting opportunity to lead larger and more complex teams within Shared Services, supporting the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused services across the organisation.

As a Team Leader, you will provide leadership and direction to a team of Shared Services professionals, ensuring the effective delivery of operational services whilst driving performance, continuous improvement, and stakeholder satisfaction. You will be responsible for managing team performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs, developing capability within your team, and implementing improvements that enhance efficiency and service excellence.

Job Context and Challenges

The Team Leader operates within a fast-paced, highly regulated Shared Services environment, balancing operational delivery, people leadership, and continuous improvement activities.

You will be expected to:
• Lead larger or more diverse teams across multiple service offerings and locations where required.
• Manage competing priorities and changing business demands whilst maintaining high service standards.
• Coordinate resources effectively to ensure operational targets are achieved.
• Drive service improvements through the identification and implementation of best practice.
• Manage escalated issues and operational risks, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and influence positive outcomes across the business.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, GDPR, and security classifications.
• Promote a positive safety culture and champion wellbeing initiatives across the team.

The role requires a confident leader who can operate with a high degree of autonomy, make tactical decisions relating to service delivery and resource allocation, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply technical knowledge to resolve moderately complex operational issues and understand interdependencies between systems and processes.
• Maintain knowledge of changes to policies, procedures, systems and technologies impacting service delivery.
• Coordinate activities with other functions to ensure alignment of priorities, schedules and dependencies.
• Analyse operational data and feedback to improve planning accuracy and service delivery performance.
• Manage sensitive, complex or high-impact stakeholder communications and escalations.
• Independently resolve operational challenges through sound judgement and root cause analysis.
• Drive local process improvements and share best practice across Shared Services functions.
• Take tactical decisions relating to team productivity, service delivery, resource allocation and performance management.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrable experience in a Team Leader or supervisory role with performance management accountability.
• Highly proficient in delegating tasks, motivating others and leading teams to achieve business objectives.
• Demonstrable experience identifying and implementing improvements and establishing best practices.
• Strong understanding of People and Finance (payroll) business processes, performance metrics, KPIs and service standards.
• Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement sustainable process improvements.
• Proficient in developing effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
• Proficient in managing interpersonal issues and fostering positive team environments.
• Proficient in mentoring, coaching and supporting a culture of continuous development.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to adapt approach to different audiences.
• Ability to analyse problems, identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Experience managing competing priorities and allocating resources effectively to meet service delivery targets.
• Good understanding of nuclear regulatory frameworks, safety culture and secure operations.

Desirable Skills

• Level 3 NVQ Certificate/Diploma in Business Administration (or equivalent).
• T Level in Business Administration.
• Business Improvement qualification or equivalent continuous improvement experience.
• Experience leading teams across multiple service lines or locations.
