The engineers and technical specialists within our operational technology group (OTG) are at the cutting edge of AI and innovation in operational technology and cyber security. They are responsible for managing, maintaining and modifying the operational technology and programmable electronic systems across the Sellafield site. That includes looking after everything from Spot our robotic dog to finding ways to keep operational systems from the 1980s cyber secure. Doing this helps to deliver our key projects and ensures our facilities are kept safe and operational. During the operational technology work experience programme you will: Utilise human performance tools to carry out a systematic approach to fault finding; Design, develop and testing programming solutions to navigate a robotic dog around a mock nuclear facility; Control traffic lights and conveyor rigs; Gain an insight into cyber security for Operational Technology and understand why it is so important. During the week long programme you will improve you skills in listening, speaking, problem solving, creativity, teamwork, and leadership, all of which are useful skills for any future career you may have. You will also have the opportunity to meet and engage with engineers and technical specialists who are at the cutting edge of developing innovative solutions and managing our systems.
