Job Description Business Relationship Managers are responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships between ISO/ICT and defined areas of the Sellafield Ltd business. They generate business awareness of Digital and ICT products, services, and capabilities through effective communication, inspiring and surfacing opportunities to address new problems. By working closely with their business areas, role-holders seek to understand and translate these opportunities into ICT deliverables. This involves critically evaluating business demand to ensure that they deliver value in line with Sellafield Ltd Digital Strategy and delivery plans. Consequently, Business Relationship Managers, must provide an appropriate level of influence, negotiation, and challenge – while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships – to support the delivery of ICT products and services that are fit for purpose. Business Relationship Managers manage the strategic interface between ISO/ICT, the Executive Committee and senior leaders. This includes articulating the business value of Digital and ICT products and services to stakeholders and feeding their needs back into the department. By building business intelligence, Business Relationship Managers support the development of artefacts associated with Sellafield Ltd Digital Strategy. This requires engaging with the NDA group, and wider stakeholders, to understand their Digital strategic objectives, and creating clear and compelling narratives that reflect their ambition. Principal Accountabilities Business Relationship Management • Support or lead partnerships between ISO/ICT and defined business areas within Sellafield Ltd, including the interface with the Executive Committee, forging and maturing trust-based relationships and providing business intelligence into the department to enable the co-creation of value through ICT. This involves understanding and translating ICT deliverables into clear business language and user stories to promote their benefits within the business. • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of ISO/ICT’s Business Engagement Model, monitoring its effectiveness and adherence. • Champion, inspire and drive Digital change among stakeholders by advocating, lobbying, and negotiating for it, as well as removing obstacles and barriers to it, to ensure ICT products and services are fit for purpose and strong stakeholder relationships are maintained. • Build strategic relationships with ISO/ICT’s supply chain, enabling innovation, the sharing of best practice/cross-industry insights, to enable and further value to be extracted from supply chain contracts. • Demonstrate leadership skills in all Business Relationship Management activity, building trust in all settings and team environments, especially when working as part of a matrixed team, as well as fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation between ISO/ICT and the Sellafield Ltd business. Digital Strategy • Contribute to activity across the lifecycle of Sellafield Ltd Digital Strategy and its associated artefacts, inputting business intelligence and the priorities of senior leaders across ISO/ICT to create a clear and compelling narrative. • Support engagement with the NDA group and UK-wide Digital Infrastructure owners/operators to accelerate their Digital strategic objectives, sharing lessons learnt and conducting industry benchmarking. Marketing IT • Promote ISO/ICT capabilities, products, and services across the Sellafield Ltd business to address new business problems or introduce efficiencies, collaborating across ISO/ICT and the Communications team. This includes conducting strategic stakeholder profiling and segmentation across Sellafield Ltd, identifying key business customers and securing their commitment to ICT-driven change. Business Demand Management • Critically evaluate business problems, providing an appropriate level of challenge and support to influence stakeholders towards appropriate resolution routes whilst maintaining strong relationships and managing expectations. • Shape demand where appropriate, implementing best practice methodologies and techniques to support the articulation, collection, and definition of business requirements and ensuring their alignment with Digital Strategy and operating plans. This includes influencing the demand to delivery lifecycle, working across ISO/ICT to prioritise delivery in line with the requirements of the Sellafield Ltd business and guiding stakeholders through the process. Role authorities and dimensions • Represents ISO/ICT at stakeholder-led boards within a defined business area regarding site-wide ICT decisions, issues, or escalations, and appropriately influences their context. • Represents ICT products, services, and capabilities to both internal and external stakeholders to address business need and capitalise on opportunity. • Governs and enforces the processes and standards set by Sellafield Ltd and provides robust challenge. • Shapes and inspires new Digital opportunities across Sellafield Ltd and the NDA group. Essential Skills • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification or experience in a relevant field, such as IT, technology, or business management. • Experience in a business relationship management role or equivalent, building strong stakeholder relationships, influencing, negotiating, and managing expectations appropriately. • Experience working across all levels of seniority, both within an organisation and externally. • Experience managing multiple stakeholders with competing business needs, solving problems, proposing solutions, and providing constructive feedback. • Experience in value management, aligning actions and outcomes to enhance stakeholder value. • Able to translate complex technical detail into business language that can be understood by all stakeholders. • Willingness to work towards BRMP and CBRM qualifications. Desirable Skills • Broad understanding of supply chain management. • Understanding of Sellafield Ltd, including its operations and ICT estate or equivalent.
