About the role We are seeking Construction Coordinators to take responsibility for controlling and supervising the construction work being undertaken across the Sellafield site. Our Construction teams are involved in both major and minor projects across the site, with framework contracts worth up to £10 Billion across the next 15 years. The Construction Coordinator role is vital in providing construction knowledge and experience throughout the project life cycle, from concept design through to project handover. Our Construction Coordinators ensure Sellafield meets all regulatory and statutory requirements, the product delivered meets the required specification, as well as the goals and objectives of the project and business are delivered against. Key Responsibilities To give you a flavour of typical tasks you would be trained in, and therefore expected to undertake as part of the role: • Understand construction schemes and methodology and provide advice and guidance throughout the design phases. • Collaborate with the supply chain to develop schedules and support the production of work packs. • Undertake assurance activities on the supply chain arrangements to satisfy safety performance. • Physical verification and sign-off of the work completed by the supply chain. • Be visible at the workplace and support our supply chain to overcome constraints/challenges that you may encounter in delivery of the scope. Your skills and qualifications • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship at NVQ Level 3. OR equivalent qualification in relevant engineering, manufacturing, process, or plant operations subject. • Ability to represent the construction team and provide construction guidance to Project and Design managers. • Ability to manage and deliver Construction projects and tasks. • Effective at directing colleagues/team. • Can ensure input to other project processes are incorporated, for example, design, HAZOP, risk, contract, estimating and knowledge management. • Has a strong desire to drive for results. • Can influence others to improve. • Can develop and maintain effective relationships and communications with key stakeholders and effective communicator. Skills considered desirable • HNC or equivalent Level 4 qualification in relevant engineering subject. • CDM Awareness training. • Experience of Managing Construction Work at Sellafield. • Experience over a range of Engineering Projects. • Understanding/knowledge of NEC 3 Contracts.
