Principal Accountabilities What You’ll Be Responsible For: As Dosimetry Team Leader, you will lead the team in the safe provision of a quality External Dosimetry Service. This includes: • Production and assessment of Whole Body and Extremity Dosemeters. • Ordering, assigning and dispatching Neutron Dosemeters. • Management and oversight of site PAD stocks. • Managing the collection and counting of Static Air Samples. • Overseeing the collection of Biological Samples. You will also: • Carry out line management responsibilities for the External Dosimetry team. • Ensure the safe and compliant delivery of dosimetry services in line with statutory and company requirements. • Coordinate routine operational delivery across Whole Body Dosimetry, Extremity Dosimetry, Static Air Sampling and PAD management. • Act as a Qualified Person (QP) for the annual calibration of the site stock of Electronic Personal Dosemeters (EPDs). • Act as Local Clearance Coordinator for the dispatch of dosimetry equipment to off-site facilities. • Ensure equipment maintenance schedules and essential consumable stock levels are effectively managed within budget constraints. • Provide technical dosimetry advice to customers and stakeholders. • Produce, review and validate procedures and instructions where required. Essential Skills • Good leadership skills, with the ability to cope under pressure, motivate a team, set targets, hold individuals to account and provide direction and advice. • Good IT skills – ability to retrieve, collate, manipulate, and distribute electronic data between and within multiple operating systems. • Good interpersonal skills – able to communicate & collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels of the organisation as well as internal and external stakeholders. • Good planning skills, including the ability to manage multiple work flows effectively and prioritise appropriately to ensure statutory obligations and customer services are maintained. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Safety focused with a commitment to maintaining high standards. Desirable Skills • Knowledge and understanding of the Dosimetry department, its operations and services. • Appreciation of IRR17 and an understanding of radiation dose and dose limits. • Team Leader / Supervisory experience. • Real time Demander experience / experienced Local Clearance Coordinator.
