Role Purpose Lead a Team delivering Asset Management business change and provide engineering oversight for interconnected product stream areas to improve strategic management of assets regarding site cost, risk and performance. 2. Deliverables • Develop and deliver strategic options for assigned product streams, aligning resources to contribute to the efficient delivery of the wider directorate mission with the focus on our most important assets. • Influence senior internal and external stakeholders/customers (including, regulators and NDA) to ensure effective delivery of key engineering activities to support strategic objectives and promote whole lifecycle Asset Management approach. • Lead and develop a competent, committed and focused multidisciplined team with individuals who are capable, energised and motivated to perform to a consistently high standard. • Interpret and communicate asset performance insights to the business, highlighting opportunities for improvement and potential risks. Apply sound asset management principles to enable informed decisions that balance performance, cost-effectiveness, and long-term sustainability. • Manage cross function collaboration (including; operations, maintenance, projects, risk and strategy) to align understanding, priorities and common goal setting. • Oversee development and implementation of long-term asset management strategies and plans aligned with organisation goals. • Support the Reliability Engineering capability within the facility. Including identification of need, stream requirements and optimal system performance. • Monitor and improve asset performance and reliability using effective KPIs, data analysis and leading root cause analysis. • Identify and optimise total cost of ownership through data driven asset interventions. • Oversee the use continuous improvement tools and techniques to asset management practices and systems. • Effectively communicate improvement opportunities to energise and motivate individuals driving change and consistent, high-quality performance. • Conduct assurance on asset management, compliance with legal obligations and engineering processes and best practice. • Benchmark external industries and ensure the business maintains up to date knowledge and delivery regarding product stream engineering and asset management. • Establish compliant, cost effective, fit for purpose asset management solutions that deliver business benefits with an acceptable level of risk. • Support the identification of appropriate IT solutions for stream monitoring and analysis to ensure consistent and quality data gathering. • Deliver training, coaching and mentoring within their area of technical expertise to plant facing teams in the Engineering & Maintenance community. Principle Accountabilities Knowledge & Experience Chartered status or potential to achieve chartered status through an accredited professional institute. Significant engineering experience, providing depth and breadth of knowledge to act with credibility. Demonstrable experience of working within a change environment and delivering change initiatives. Excellent people leadership skills and experience of team management. Strong knowledge of asset management standards and best practice. Essential Skills Proven ability to lead and develop multi-disciplinary teams. Strong knowledge of asset management principles and lifecycle planning. Ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders. Experience in implementing business change and continuous improvement. Understanding of legal obligations, engineering standards, and assurance processes. Ability to use KPIs, root cause analysis, and performance data to drive improvements. Clear and concise communication tailored to different audiences. Desirable Skills Chartered status or potential to achieve chartered status through an accredited professional institute. Familiarity with asset monitoring systems and digital solutions. Understanding of cost optimization and total cost of ownership. Ability to compare practices with external industries.
