Job Description Role Purpose: To manage the efficient, effective and safe delivery of the Manufactured Products Organisation (MPO) Performance office activities (including Nuclear Solutions Group and Constructions Services) in line with Company, statutory, regulatory and Site Licence requirements. Deliverables: • Provide leadership and direction to the MPO Performance Office team (c.3 people) to ensure a high performing and cohesive team, ensuring that all Engineering Support have the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out tasks and responsibilities efficiently, effectively and safely through successful completion of relevant training. • Lead on the control of MPO Resource, Budget and forecasting accuracy (circa £32m and 300 FTE). • Work closely with E&M Business Manager, Finance Controller and Cost Engineer to enable accurate alignment of Funding, Baseline, Budget, Forecasting and spend profiling. • Ensure MPO strategic performance information is robust and accurately cascaded to the MPO Performance Board and E&M portfolio board. • Monitor and report on delivery of scope/spend against approved sanction in line with active business cases. • Lead on Operating Plan reviews and baseline reviews including development of impact statements for all 6 MPO SAP projects. • Manage and monitor organisational progress and milestone delivery in alignment with the MPO 10 year strategic plan, ensuring performance is underpinned. • Develop, implement and manage robust visual management to enable clear line of sight and ensure supplier queries are controlled from acceptance to completion, and maintain oversight to minimise costly delays. • Develop, embed and continually improve SQCDP reporting across MPO to drive both effective and risk-based decision making, and to help embed manufacturing mindset across the team. • Coordinating and maintaining focus on Risk Management at both MPO and Product level. • Liaise with internal customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities to manage overall work schedules. • Develop, implement and provide governance to the MPO LFE repository and establishing a steering group to act on the learning in a timely manner. Principle Accountabilities Knowledge & Experience • Strong organisational understanding and can effectively oversee daily support activities including performance monitoring, management and reporting. • Strong understanding and experience of organisational financial and resource management systems, processes or tools. • Proven experience of portfolio management of several financial projects and ability to manage and consolidate • Can interpret complex performance/delivery data in a variety of verbal and visual value add formats. • Proven experience in resource management / utilisation and supporting systems and processes ensuring the management of headcount to Approved Staffing Level. • Experience in managing a team, providing guidance and support to achieve organisational goals with a focus on day-to-day leadership and team development. • Solves problems within the scope of their team or area, typically addressing operational challenges with a tactical approach. • Ability to communicate and build strong relationships with their team, colleagues and wider stakeholders, ensuring clarity around performance, operational updates and guidance. Essential Skills • Experience in managing a team, providing guidance and support to achieve organisational goals with a focus on day-to-day leadership and team development. • Demonstrable experience of understanding and managing organisational finance, baseline and resource requirements. • Experience of managing budgets for several financial projects and ability to portfolio manager across all. • Demonstrable ability to understand and interpret data and present in understandable and meaningful outputs. • Ability to foresee risks/issues in spend profiles and develop mitigations/ strategies to avoid funding allocation breaches. • Demonstrable experience of communicating and building strong relationships with all levels of the organisation and wider stakeholders. Desirable Skills • Awareness of commercial constructs and contracts in support of product procurement activities. • An understanding of New Product Introduction Process. • Understanding of manufacturing/product delivery. • Has been involved in reporting improvement activities and can demonstrate credible, value add improvements.
