Job Description 1. Role Purpose To control and supervise the delivery of work activities and manage the Engineering Support team members in accordance with established arrangements to deliver an effective service across the enterprise. 2. Deliverables • Monitor team utilisation and address any workload issues to ensure that the team is effectively deployed, and value-added utilisation is improved. • Ensure that team members have appropriate skills, experience and training to carry out work efficiently and effectively and adhere to all statutory and regulatory requirements. Assigning work activities based on team members’ strengths and weaknesses. • Set targets and monitor performance to ensure that work associated with the business requirements is delivered to schedule, cost and quality. • Apply the appropriate level of supervision to the activities of team members to ensure that work is carried out as required by Company standards, procedures, instructions and other requirements • Actively coach and mentor colleagues and others to assist in knowledge transfer and strengthening of the site maintenance capability. • Manage the team in accordance with company HR processes and procedures; timekeeping, sickness absence, leave, personnel records, etc. • Manage team performance using the performance management process, setting individual and team goals, carrying out check-in conversations, and providing effective performance feedback. • Set and reinforce Company Standards and Expectations and hold team members to account for the expected levels of Nuclear Safety Professionalism. • Provide timely and consistent communication of team goals, company messages, and our Company Values of Safety and Security, Ambition, Integrity, and Inclusion. • Motivate and inspire the team to achieve individual, team and organisational goals. • Drive and improve performance through effective Leader in the Field activities aligned to organizational requirements and expectations. • Identify areas for improvement and reinforce positive behaviours / good practices. • To manage processes, services and teams in support of customers in delivery of PMS, Statutory & NP EIM&T. • To manage processes ensuring all scheduled Examination Inspection Maintenance and Testing (EIM&T) maintenance correctly prompted and issued to enable completion within specified timescales. • Appropriate monitoring of all EIM&T to ensure no reportable overdue SM, SR, SF & NP – in instances where any EIM&T cannot be completed, advise accordingly on the ND Process as per the SLP 1.06 suite and ensure each facility follows the correct process. • To manage the processes ensuring all daily system audits (Smartnotes) are monitored, understood & rectified maintaining LC28 compliance. Principle Accountabilities Knowledge & Experience • Experience of managing a team with some exposure to IT and system administrator roles. • Evidence of compliance with legislative, regulatory and company procedures and standards eg. safety, quality, risk and security etc. appropriate to the role. • Ability to facilitate, interpret and implement new initiatives across the business to improve performance. • Excellent understanding of the CMMS and associated Engineering and Maintenance processes. • Must be computer literate and have familiarity with Microsoft Office packages including evidence of advanced Excel skills. • Good Team player with attention to detail good written and oral communication skills. • Strong analytical skills to identify root cause, trends and understand risks and consequences to improve the quality of requirements and associated testing. • Evidence of quality customer service delivery. • Evidence of knowledge of engineering specifications and standards. • Sound knowledge of the impact of processes and systems on the business. Essential Skills • Demonstrable experience of holding self and/or others to account. • Demonstrates accuracy, quality and an attention to detail in their work. • Good written and verbal communications skills. • Demonstrable experience of personal resilience and good interpersonal skills to be able to interact with a wide range of customers at all levels of the organisation. • Proven ability to plan and prioritise workload. • Demonstrable evidence of personal commitment to identifying performance gaps within either people, plant or process.
