1. Role Purpose

To provide specialist Engineering Support services to Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) through the use of appropriate technology and systems. Using Continuous Improvement methodology to drive the business forward and enable more informed data driven decision making.

2. Deliverables

• Promote and support overall nuclear safety (along with all other areas of safety – conventional, industrial, radiological, environmental) by maintaining a safe operating envelope through ensuring all work activities are to site standards, policies, processes, and procedures.
• Deliver and undertake key engineering support roles to meet the facility, value stream or enterprise goals and commitments.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement programme and governance and control framework to ensure safe delivery of engineering activities against defined standards, company objectives and key performance indicators.
• Support independent assurance activities with ONR, EA, LRQA, WANO, internal and external regulators/customers.
• Support and may act as subject matter expert for engineering / compliance standards, Plant administration activities through the generation and control of plant indicators, visual management, Instruction ownership and review to ensure that a high standard of work is delivered.
• Drive standards during delivery of activities, ensure incorrect delivery is resolved. Meet customer, process owner, and business expectations, maintaining strong working relationships across all levels of the business.
• Analyse, interrogate, compile, present and process information from required systems to identify root causes and Key Performance Indicators, share learning, inform decision making or outcomes across the business.
• In addition to the above role holders are expected to fulfil other duties and tasks that are commensurate with their grade assigned to them by management to ensure efficient engineering & maintenance delivery and the success of the team/organisation.

Principal Accountabilities

Knowledge & Experience

• Some experience in an Engineering and Maintenance role ideally previous experience in an Engineering support B4C would be desirable.
• Knowledge of safety case structure or processes associated with role.

Essential Skills

• Examples of resilience and interpersonal skills to be able to interact with all levels of the organisation (both internal and external to Sellafield)
• Demonstrable experience of analytical skills with knowledge of problem-solving tools.
• Demonstrable evidence of being able to advise and influence at a senior leadership level.
• Demonstrable experience of delivering change.
• Demonstrates accuracy, quality, and attention to detail in their work.
• Experience of coaching individuals on processes

Desirable Skills

• Experience in the schedule change process and how Plant Maintenance Schedule data is structured in the CMMS.
• Good understanding of company policies and procedures, SLMS 1.06 Plant Engineering, Asset Management and Equipment Reliability and 1.08 Maintenance and Task Delivery.
• Detail knowledge of Engineering Information Systems (M3, Qlikview).
• Knowledge and experience of configuration management processes, applying processes and taking corrective action as required.
