Job Description To provide enterprise‑wide oversight and coordination of all Learning & Development (L&D) training facilities, simulated environments, skills halls, classrooms and learning hubs, ensuring they are safe, fit for purpose, future‑ready and aligned to business needs. The role supports the effective delivery of learning across the organisation by applying service management principles, establishing consistent governance, and acting as the enterprise interface between L&D, Estates, Asset Owners, and service users. Principal Accountabilities Enterprise Oversight & Operations • Provide enterprise‑level oversight of day‑to‑day operations across all L&D facilities, including skills halls, simulators, classrooms and satellite learning hubs. • Coordinate planned and emergent activities across the L&D estate, including maintenance, equipment upgrades, training delivery, assessments and events. • Ensure facilities are consistently available, safe, compliant and ready for use across the enterprise. Governance, Compliance & Assurance • Develop, implement and maintain a consistent enterprise governance and assurance framework for all L&D facilities. • Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory and organisational requirements, including SLC26 and SLC28, PUWER, COSHH, waste management and environmental controls. • Act as the training‑facility focal point for assurance activities, audits and inspections. Stakeholder & Interface Management • Act as the enterprise liaison between L&D users, Building Managers, Estates, Asset Management and operational stakeholders. • Provide a single point of coordination for learning facility‑related matters, ensuring clear ownership, escalation routes and decision‑making. • Coordinate and support senior leadership and VIP visits across the L&D estate. Service Management & Learner Experience • Own and operate an enterprise service management framework for L&D facilities. • Define, agree and monitor SLAs for facility utilisation, setup, availability and response times. • Manage all requests for learning facility usage via the CRM system, ensuring timely and effective delivery against agreed SLAs. Asset & Facility Readiness • Ensure all learning assets, equipment and environments are maintained, current and fit for purpose. • Provide enterprise oversight of housekeeping standards across all training spaces, ensuring they are safe, secure and learning‑ready. • Influence standardisation of layouts, equipment and operating practices where appropriate. Future Capability & Continuous Improvement • Act as the client representative for enterprise learning facility improvement programmes and future developments. • Support the adoption of emerging technologies and digital‑biased learning environments. • Act as a Learning Ambassador, promoting continuous improvement, innovation and best practice across the L&D estate. AUTHORITIES & DIMENSIONS • Authority to procure learning‑related equipment and resources in line with approved budgets and governance. • Geographic Scope: Enterprise‑wide (Sellafield site and all satellite/off‑site learning hubs). • Resources: Enterprise responsibility for the setup, coordination and safe use of L&D training equipment and environments. • People: No direct line management responsibility; significant influence across a wide range of enterprise stakeholders. Essential Skills • Proven ability to operate effectively at an enterprise level within a service delivery framework. • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and expectations. • Highly organised, able to coordinate multiple facilities, schedules and workstreams simultaneously. • Understanding of how emerging technology and digital learning solutions support modern training environments. • Awareness of SLC26 and SLC28 and their application to learning facilities. Desirable Skills • Understanding of strategic, long‑term learning facility and estate planning. • Knowledge of work control processes and competency requirements for authorising and coordinating activities. • Experience within Learning & Development, Education & Skills or comparable regulated training environments. • Basic understanding of Learning Management Systems (LMS). • Competent user of Microsoft Teams and collaboration tools. • Working knowledge of CRM systems and service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL‑aligned approaches). • Certified Business Improvement Practitioner (1A / 1B) or equivalent.
