Job Description

Provide a support service to aid in the execution of Operational Technology Group (OTG) Delivery.

Principal Accountabilities

• Perform simple system modifications (under supervision).
• Perform low complexity software modifications with no/minimal supervision such as virus engine updates, mimic changes and Temporary Software Modifications (TSM’s) made permanent.
• Perform breakdown recoveries under supervision.
• Perform a limited number of duties requiring a PES nomination.
• Perform routine EIM&T on systems using written instructions – PES nomination required.
• Perform interrogation of systems to collate data, for either analysis for information reports or to identify faults and make repairs within core skills.
• Management of PCBTs and other PC based peripherals, off-line development systems, test environments and IT equipment. Register, store and update of PCBTs and other PC based equipment used to support PES maintenance (does not include standard infrastructure IT equipment) including installation of databases, images, virus updates etc.

Knowledge & Experience

• Experience within a Control Systems, CE&I or software/IT background.
• Experience of working in an operational plant environment delivering structured maintenance activities, control systems, and system improvements.
• Evidence of previous plant process knowledge and experience.
• Demonstrable evidence of working in teams.
• PES nomination.

Essential Skills

• Provide demonstrable evidence of knowledge of PES technologies including PLC, SCADA, DCS, MIS/HLS and Networks.
• Provide evidence of an understanding of the PES modification lifecycle.
• Demonstrable experience in Counterfit, Fraudulent, Suspect items identification, escalation and quarantine processes required.
• Can provide evidence of an understanding of the PES Management (specifically PCBT) lifecycle.
• Can provide evidence of knowledge and creation of Control Systems Working Level Instructions.
• Evidence of good communications skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organisation providing advice, guidance and training

Desirable Skills

• Demonstrate an understanding of Sellafield Site management arrangements and standards with evidence of application and adherence of the Discipline Maintenance Standards, Human performance 5 core tools and/or similar QMS processes.
• Completion of a recognised apprenticeship scheme with typically more than 2 years’ experience.
• Accredited to an appropriate professional body, as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) or capable of attaining this.
