Job Description

1. Role Purpose

The Equipment Services Engineer Radiometrics will be responsible for provision of Engineering Support including management, maintenance, and modification of Radiometric Measurement Systems and equipment.

2. Deliverables

• Delivery of routine and breakdown maintenance on computer based Radiometric Measurement Systems (Safety, Security, Medical, Process and Waste Systems).
• Deployment of Radiometric Measurement equipment to support Characterisation Tasks.
• System and Equipment Management of the hardware & software on Radiometric Measurement Systems including cybersecurity, configuration management, modification, and maintenance.
• Interfacing with external contractors who deliver maintenance services on behalf of SL (oversight and direction)
• Demonstrating compliance with local management arrangements and UK standards.
• Supplying technical expertise to a range of upgrade and replacement projects.

Principle Accountabilities

Knowledge & Experience

• Higher level qualification in an engineering, computing or scientific subject with relevant engineering and/or maintenance experience.
• Knowledge and experience of working on computer-based Measurement
• Understanding of asset management and configuration management processes and arrangements.
• Experience of working with contractors and suppliers.
• Good knowledge of IT, a range of operating systems and industry standard applications (ex. Microsoft office).

Essential Skills

• Evidence of a higher-level qualification in an engineering, computing or scientific subject with relevant engineering and/or maintenance experience.
• Demonstrable ability to carry out routine maintenance and breakdown recoveries on computer-based Systems.
• Evidence of good team working and interpersonal skills.
• Evidence of problem solving and diagnostic skills.
• Evidence of mentoring and coaching others.

Desirable Skills

• Demonstrable knowledge of Radiometric measurement systems and techniques.
• Evidence of working on electrical systems (isolation, re-energization and replacements).
• An understanding and application of cybersecurity, maintenance, management, and spares lifecycles of computer-based Measurement Systems.
• Evidence of supporting tasks and/or projects.
• Evidence of system/software modifications.
