Job Description 1. Role Purpose Provide a front-line maintenance support service to improve and maintain the effectiveness of the plant/facility and decrease the mean time to repair. 2. Deliverables • Deliver frontline support to the Maintenance Teams for routine, emergent and outage activities, to enable the efficient delivery of business objectives • Prioritise and review Maintenance Instructions and plant / facility drawings through liaison with Plant Engineers and local technical experts to ensure that any modifications are included to ensure technical accuracy. • Effectively organise work (POW) for the maintenance craft team members preparing work packages for the one-off maintenance activities (outside of the work planning process) to allow prompt delivery of work. • Prepare and deliver the appropriate technical content required to raise Plant Modification Proposals (PMPs), following the recognised formal process for the plant/facility. • Use their technical expertise and experience to assist in the coaching and mentoring of the maintenance craft team members to ensure they achieve/retain their Nominated Person / SQEP status. • Comply with appropriate regulations, standards and policies and carries responsibility for safety, cost and quality standards for their teams. • Oversee the delivery of the contracted maintenance activities within the plant/facility to agreed standards, expectations and time. • Proactively identify plant problems (especially recurring issues) and co-ordinate appropriate corrective maintenance actions with minimal/no supervision from Line Management. • Liaise with the Maintenance Team Leader/s in the plant/facility to prioritise maintenance activities (including outage work) to optimise operations and maintain safety. • Lead and/or support internal investigations to identify root cause and share learning from experience to ensure best practice and understanding. • Confirm specification requirements (typically with Plant Engineer) of equipment and then liaison with procurement representatives to ensure the availability of the correct equipment and spares, required to enable the reduction of return to service times. • Respond to Technical Queries (TQs) as appropriate and escalate as required. Principle Accountabilities Knowledge & Experience • Higher level qualification or equivalent training/experience in a relevant engineering discipline • Incorporated Engineer status or potential to achieve Incorporated Engineer status with an accredited professional institute. • Front line experience of Plant Engineering or Maintenance Engineering. Essential Skills • Higher level qualification or equivalent training/experience in a relevant engineering discipline. • Demonstrable evidence of the Procurement routes. • Understanding of SL processes aligned to SLC22 and SLC28. • Demonstrable experience of how to get work safely planned and delivered on a facility. • Demonstrable evidence of working closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and other disciplines to further facility mission. • Experience of coaching and mentoring. Desirable Skills • Incorporated status or working towards with an appropriate accredited Institute. • Demonstrable experience of preparing and delivering PMPs. • SQEP in POW Role to effectively organise work.
