Blend personal growth and professional development with purposeful work.

We’re offering a 12‑month fixed‑term opportunity to join our Finance team as a Management Accountant.

Working within Finance Business Partnering, the Management Accountant is part of a friendly, service line‑aligned team that supports key operational and project activity across the organisation. The role provides exposure to a range of service areas, helping to build a well‑rounded understanding of performance and supporting informed decision‑making.

The position involves preparing and interpreting financial information, including variance analysis and cost forecasting, and helping to identify emerging risks and opportunities. By working closely with colleagues across Finance, Commercial, and Project teams, the Management Accountant contributes to the production of accurate, timely, and meaningful financial insights that support effective planning and improved performance.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience in a collaborative environment while making a valuable contribution over a defined period.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer constructive, professional financial challenge and validate operational assumptions, working closely with delivery teams to understand spend, earned value, resourcing, schedules and constraints to ensure accuracy, realism and early identification of pressures or benefits.
• Maintain strong visibility within the service line’s operational environment, building a detailed understanding of work scope, delivery progress, risks and opportunities.
• Act as an early detector of financial concerns and emerging risks by linking operational activity directly to cost impacts.
• Contribute to standardisation and continuous improvement of processes to enable improved effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance Business Partnering service.
• Ensure that all service line financial activity complies with relevant financial policies, internal control frameworks, delegated authorities and public‑sector governance expectations.
• Maintain continued professional development (CPD) to stay up to date with financial regulations and best practices, ensuring the business benefits from the latest financial expertise and insights.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis across the assigned service line to understand root causes, trends, scope impacts and emerging risks that need escalation.
• Provide clear, actionable commentary that articulates changes in cost, schedule, delivery progress or scope within the service line.
