Job Description The Recruitment Team Leader leads, motivates, and manages a team of Shared Services professionals in delivering a high-quality, timely, and customer-focused service that enables the organisation to meet its objectives. The Team Leader ensures that all activities—such as maintaining electronic records and systems, assessment/interview scheduling, and recruitment administrative support—are carried out efficiently and effectively, in compliance with relevant legislation (e.g. GDPR, Employment Rights Act 2025), and in alignment with company policies, processes, and best practices. They foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability within a front-facing, back-office shared services team environment. Principal Accountabilities • Health, Safety & Wellbeing: Ensure team adherence to health and safety policies and promote wellbeing initiatives to champion a safe and secure working environment. • Leadership & People Management: Provide clear direction, support, and motivation to team members, ensuring alignment with organisational values and objectives to foster a high-performance culture. • Employee Performance & Development: Conduct regular one-to-ones providing constructive performance feedback, coaching and development, support to enable individual and team performance aligned to agreed KPIs and SLAs. • Workload & Resource Management: Allocate tasks effectively, balancing workloads and priorities, manage absences and ensure adequate coverage to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of services. • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all team outputs meet required standards for accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with GDPR, Employment Rights Act 2025, company policies, and security classifications. • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and escalate issues appropriately to ensure effective resolution of queries and concerns. • Process Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in Shared Services processes and service delivery and lead or support implementation of changes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. • Issue Resolution & Risk Management: Proactively manage service risks and performance shortfalls, lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. • Communication & Collaboration: Facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure consistent messaging and standards to promote open, professional communication within the team and across departments. • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate KPI and SLAs records and provide regular reports to senior management to support performance monitoring, improvements and contribute to strategic planning. Essential Skills • Significant experience in a team leadership or management role with responsibility for performance, people development and service delivery. • Proven ability to lead, coach and motivate teams, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture. • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all organisational levels. • Experience leading change, implementing improvements and driving operational excellence. • Advanced analytical, planning and problem-solving skills, using performance data to inform decisions and improve outcomes. • Demonstrable ability to manage resources, priorities and complex operational challenges in line with business demand. • Understanding of relevant regulatory, compliance and safety requirements. • Experience delivering cross-functional projects and aligning team objectives to wider business goals. • A detailed understanding of Sellafield Ltd terms & conditions, recruitment practises and principles. Desirable Skills • Foundation Degree/HNC/HNDs or Level 4–5 NVQ in Business or Management. • 1B Business Improvements Certification or equivalent. • Demonstrable experience in an operational support leadership role within a regulated or high-security industry. • Strong knowledge of evidence-based assessment methodologies, ensuring selection processes are valid, reliable, fair, and aligned to organisational and regulatory requirements. • Experienced in the selection, validation, interpretation and deployment of psychometric tools, aptitude tests and behavioural assessments, including assessment centres. • Skilled in evaluating and continuously improving recruitment assessment frameworks to enhance candidate quality, efficiency and hiring outcomes.
