• Complete defined regulatory and assurance deliverables, including statutory or mandated strategy submissions (CEAR 2.8 requirements: Ongoing Activities During Storage of Unconditioned Higher Activity Wastes at Sellafield: 2026).
• Lead or support the underpinning, structuring and management of key strategic decisions, including use of decision management tools and processes (e.g. decision papers, decision trees and supporting analysis).
• Prepare high‑quality strategy documentation and briefing materials for governance boards, senior leadership, regulators and external stakeholders.
• Support and contribute to strategy governance meetings by shaping agenda content, presenting analysis, and tracking actions through to closure.
• Act as a recognised point of contact and subject matter expert for defined areas of the IWM strategy.
• Build constructive relationships with senior internal stakeholders, enterprise functions, NDA Group colleagues, regulators and external partners.
• Influence and challenge thinking to drive optimal, system‑level waste management outcomes, balancing technical, commercial, regulatory and delivery considerations.
• Develop and maintain breadth and depth of understanding across the full HAW lifecycle and integrated waste management system.
• Support learning from experience (LFE) and the application of good practice across strategic activities.
• Support the development of capability within the Strategy team by sharing knowledge, coaching others where appropriate, and contributing to continuous improvement.
• Generate suitable evidence to support professional development and progression towards chartership or registration with relevant professional bodies where appropriate (e.g. RSC, IChemE, CIWM).
