Job Description SNM are seeking a Technical Manager, with demonstrated technical knowledge and experience to lead our SNM asset management team. We hope to attract an individual who approaches challenges differently and enjoys both supporting planned inspection activities on plant and developing technical solutions to support improving inspection activities from concept to implementation. It is a fascinating time to join SNM Technical, with construction underway for the new SPRS retreatment plant (SRP), designed to retreat and repack our inventory into the SRP TIG weld sealed product package, the development of which we are supporting. We also need to run our current storage facilities and inspect our package inventory for many more years. This offers unique challenges for our technical teams working within SNM. The successful applicant will enable the progression of these projects and the existing SNM operations, through their management and development of a successful team of technical staff. SNM Technical work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including: Major Projects, UKNNL, Universities, external specialists and international laboratories. Together they work to further mature our understanding of special nuclear materials and the environments that they are stored in. It will also be necessary to interface with our regulators, especially ONR. This is primarily an office-based role at Albion, but will involve time supporting our inspection activities on plant. Principal Accountabilities • Management and delivery of the inspection and asset management technical work portfolio. • Maintain the quality of the team output. • Effective stakeholder communication and management including ONR. • Accolade management for SNM Technical and TBURD report.. • Supporting development of the SNM Asset Management Team. Essential Skills • Demonstrated management and delivery of a technical work portfolio. • Experience in plant and asset inspections and completing practical work within an operations environment. • Knowledge of corrosion and corrosion monitoring. • Relevant experience leading technical teams. • Knowledge of SNM mission and challenges. • A materials or science based technical qualifications. • DV clearance, or the ability to achieve. Desirable Skills • Knowledge of LC28 and technical basis of maintenance (TBOM). • Experience working with external stakeholders and regulators. • Experience of Accolade and TBURD process. • Experience of chairing a technical committee. • Delivering improvements onto plant.
