Sellafield Ltd is a unique place to grow your career, offering a remarkable blend of role variety, job security, personal growth, professional development, and purposeful work.

Our seven-step recruitment process is designed to give you the best opportunity to showcase your strengths and meet the unique requirements of working in the nuclear sector.

  • Stage 1: Apply

Your journey with us starts with your online application. For a full list of our current vacancies click here.

  • Stage 2 – Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview with the hiring manager and other members of our team (usually a maximum of three people). Our aim here is to get to know you and hear about your skills and experience so we’ll try our best to make you feel at ease.

  • Stage 3 – Conditional offer

A successful interview means a conditional offer. We can’t offer you a confirmed offer until you’ve successfully completed security clearance and a medical, so we suggest that you do not resign from your current employer at this stage.

  • Stage 4 – Security clearance

    Timeline

The nature of our work means that our employees must hold security clearance. We’ll let you know which documents need to be completed as part of the clearance process. Once the forms have been submitted to our vetting team it will take a minimum of two weeks to complete the process.

  • Stage 5 – Medical

When we send you a conditional offer, the email will include instructions on how to book your medical. Please book the next available date as it can take a minimum of two weeks for the outcome of your medical to be shared with the recruitment team.

  • Stage 6 – Unconditional offer

Congratulations! By this stage you have successfully gained security clearance and passed your medical. We’ll be in touch to arrange your start date and then we’ll send you an unconditional offer, so you can resign from your current employer (if applicable).

  • Stage 7 – Your first day

    meeting

We’ll send you an onboarding pack before your first day with us so that you know what to expect in your first days, weeks, and months. It starts with an induction programme. You’ll meet other new starters who are joining our teams across the business, helping you to build your network from day one.

You need a minimum of GCSE grade C or above (or grade 4 and above) in Mathematics, English and Science (or equivalent). Some roles require further qualifications. Full details are provided as part of each vacancy notice.
