1. Role Purpose To manage the efficient, effective and safe delivery of all Nuclear Solutions Group support activities in line with Company, Commercial, Statutory, Regulatory and Site Licence requirements. 2. Deliverables Promote and support overall nuclear safety (along with other areas of safety - conventional, industrial, radiological, environmental) by maintaining a safe operating envelope through ensuring all work activities are to site standards, policies, processes, and procedures. Manage the motivation, personal development and performance of direct reports to ensure high performing and cohesive team, ensuring that all Engineering support have the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out tasks and responsibilities efficiently, effectively and safely through successful completion of relevant training. Oversee the medium to long term resource needs and develop workforce plans accordingly to ensure the right resources are in the right places to deliver required work and improve efficiency. Oversee the investigation of safety events and sentence ATLAS events to identify root cause and ensure appropriate corrective actions are identified and implemented to resolve issues. Undertake inspections, observations and assurance activities to identify and highlight performance gaps with Nuclear Solutions Group, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of issues, including escalation of significant concerns to senior management. Identify, assess, and understand concerns regarding performance and potential cross-site impacts of enterprise activities, ensuring appropriate escalation to Head of department when required. Provide independent challenge and advice on delivery approach and performance, providing an independent view to support informed and timely decision making. Identify, facilitate and lead Nuclear Solutions Group improvement programmes at local business level to support delivery of site improvement programmes. Ensure LFE is disseminated and acted upon. Actively coach, mentor and manage the Engineering support community to assist with knowledge transfer and strengthening of the engineering support capability. Contribute to the continuous improvement programme and the governance and control framework to ensure safe delivery of engineering activities against defined standards, company objectives and key performance indicators. Drive standards and efficiency during delivery of activities, ensuring delivery issues are resolved. Meet customer, process owner, and business expectations, maintaining strong working relationships across all levels of the business.
