Application Process

The Sellafield Ltd graduate scheme applications window opens yearly in the Summer months and remains open until Autumn.

Stage 1: Application Form

Applications can be submitted by visiting the Search & Apply section of our website. Please ensure you complete all required fields and regularly check your emails for updates.

Top tip: Be clear on why you have chosen to apply for the graduate scheme at Sellafield.

Stage 2: Aptitude Testing

All successful applicants will be invited to complete an online aptitude/ability test.

Top tip: Ensure you complete the practice tests provided before completing assessed section.

Stage 3: Telephone Interview

In order to get to know you further we will invite you for a telephone interview. A member of the graduate team will tell you when your telephone interview will be and a Sellafield Ltd representative will contact you on the number you have provided on your application form.

Top tip: Allow time before your telephone interview to prepare and make sure you are in a quiet area.

Stage: 4: Assessment Centre

If you are successful at your telephone interview we will invite you to one of our assessment centres where you’ll take part in a range of exercises to show how you perform in various situations. Our assessment centre provides us with a candidate profile of you to assess whether you meet the standard for graduate entry.

Top tip: Research the industry and understand the current affairs relating to it.

Stage 5: Conditional Offer

If you pass our assessment centre, we’ll identify the right role and make you a conditional offer. We usually ask for a response within one week of receiving the offer.

Stage 6: Pre-employment Checks

Your offer is conditional upon completing our pre-employment check process. This consists of security and medical clearance (which all Sellafield Ltd employees must obtain) and evidence of your degree classification.

Stage 7: Confirmation of Start Date

Once you have successfully passed all pre-employment checks your start date will be confirmed. The Sellafield Ltd Graduate Scheme is cohort-based and all graduates start towards the end of September.

Induction Week

In order to equip you with the knowledge and skills you will need to commence the graduate scheme you will take part in a week-long induction. Throughout the week you will receive training, take part in a community project, meet your graduate peers and the wider senior management at Sellafield Ltd.
