Digital & Technology Solutions

Location: Sellafield, Cumbria

As a Digital & Technology Solutions Degree Apprentice you will work alongside experienced professionals to provide technology enabled solutions to internal customers, in a range of areas including software, business and systems analysis, cyber security, data analysis and network infrastructure. You will implement technology solutions that enable the business to increase productivity, improve processes and enable the successful completion of the company’s mission. You will become a confident, competent, and capable independent Technology Solutions Professional able to operate in a range of related roles.

Things I should consider?

This is a four-year Degree Apprenticeship scheme which offers on the job learning across a broad range of digital & technology areas. Whilst on the scheme you will undertake placements in a wide variety of areas, including, but not limited to, Geospatial, Operational Research, Asset Information Systems, and Applications before being placed in a final placement for 12 months.

You will also gain a BSc (Hons) in Digital & Technology Solutions.

As an integral part of your apprenticeship your progress will be monitored and assessed against government standard requirements. You will compile an evidence folder, demonstrating your areas of learning with accredited certificates of completion for elements of your training. Within the last six months of your apprenticeship, you will undertake an assessment by an independently appointed organisation, where you will be expected to clearly demonstrate your capability to perform as a Digital & Technology Solutions Professional.

Where will my training be delivered?

You will undertake placements based on either the Sellafield site or one of our various satellite offices in West Cumbria with one day a week to complete your off the job learning.

  • Level 6 ST0119 Digital & Technology Solutions Professional (integrated degree) Apprenticeship
  • BSc (Hons) in Digital & Technology Solutions

What are the entry requirements?

Our degree apprenticeships are aimed at those studying or who have achieved A-Levels or equivalent. The entry requirements for our degree apprenticeship schemes are:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade 4 (Grade C) in Mathematics, English Language & 1 Science or Engineering subject.
  • Minimum of 96 UCAS Points, all A Level subjects considered.
  • Other Level 3 qualifications may be considered.
  • Vocational equivalents at level 3 or higher will also be considered as equivalent to UCAS points
  • Functional Skills Level 2 will also be considered as equivalent to GCSE Grade 4 (Grade C)

Additional Requirements 

Candidates will be required to achieve appropriate security and medical clearances; these will be instigated on receiving a conditional offer of employment.
