Application Process
We want your time with us to be great for Sellafield Ltd and great for you. That’s why we’ve laid out the steps of the application process for applying for our work experience opportunities below so that you know what to expect right from that start.
Stage 1 – Application Form
Where to apply:
Applications for work experience at Sellafield Ltd, in both our locations (West Cumbria and Warrington) will be made directly through this careers site, when live you will find them on the search and apply page here.
You’ll be asked to answer a series of questions relating to your education, hobbies and interests, and why you are interested in a work experience opportunity with Sellafield Ltd. Once you’ve completed all the questions, you will be able to submit your application.
West Cumbria Opportunities;
Opening date:
The opening date for our 2024 Work Experience Programme is: Friday 1st November 2024.
Closing date:
The closing date for our 2024 Work Experience Programme is: Sunday 1st December 2024.
Warrington Opportunities;
Opening date:
The opening date for our Warrington Work Experience Programme is: Friday 2nd May 2025.
Closing date:
The closing date for our Warrington Work Experience Programme is: Sunday 25th May 2025.
Key information:
As part of your application, you will be asked to select your top 3 preferences for our variety of schemes. Please research these thoroughly prior to submitting your application. You can find more information on each of the schemes we have available by visiting the programmes page.
Hints and tips:
We recommend viewing our application form, making a note of the key questions, and working on these offline until you are ready to submit your application. It is important you include your predicated or achieved grades in your application.
Stage 2 – Application Review & Selection
For our West Cumbria opportunities we will review your application and aim to provide you with feedback by Friday 20th December 2024.
Stage 3 – Work Experience Offers
If you are successful in securing a work experience placement, we will send you confirmation of this including scheme information, placement location and planned start date.
Stage 4 – Onboarding
The education outreach team will contact you about photographic ID, what to expect from your week with us, building arrangements, dress code, local transport, and confirmation of your safeguarding contact whilst on your placement. We will also contact your education provider to let them know you have been offered the opportunity to take part in our work experience programme.
